wax works

I took a hiatus from blogging over break. But I'm BACK with some fun wax projects I've been working on the past month. Wax is such a difficult material to work with--yet I keep wanting to melt more of it!

I made this sculpture from eggshells, clementine peels and wax recycled from candles collected around the house. It's a sculptural translation of Sylvia Plath's poem "Nick and the Candlestick."

A little birthday candle I made for my darling friend Madame Robinski. Made almost entirely of recycled materials (except for the wick): a soup can, a map from an atlas salvaged at a recycling center and wax from used candles. Happy Birthday, Robin!
